About the Summit Program
The theme of this year’s summit is Wade in the Water – Environmental Justice: The Black Church Response to Climate Change. The summit is a call to action for the Black Church – a powerful opportunity to learn, connect and network with hundreds of individuals who are concerned about water issues, climate change, poverty and pollution, equitable green economies and ensuring a sustainable planet. You will be joining a diverse array of participants including Green The Church affiliates, local pastors, ministers, church boards, trustees, administrators, deacons, church members, concerned clergy, green advocates and environmental supporters. This 2-day Summit will include a Green Bus Tour, Friday Evening worship service, a series of workshops and seminars to empower church leadership and lay people to develop practical solutions to economic and environmental issues in the Black community. Rev. Dr. Dianne Glave will be our Friday Evening worship service guest speaker and our Saturday keynote will be Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali, Vice President of Environmental Justice, Climate & Community Revitalization for the National Wildlife Federation (NWF).
